Video is of his first ride off the track since last race on 10/29. Pulled him out of field, took down street to an indoor and got video. He was a little nervous but well behaved, smart, and very very brave to the poles and x-rail! Wearing racing plates on fronts, barefoot behind just fyi. Lightly raced with only 9 starts in his career, not a very good racehorse. $16k in earnings but only won two races and near last in most of the rest. Unfortunately not the fastest racehorse in the shed, but luckily for everyone else, he loves people pleasing, having a job and learning new things.

Uphill build, forward ride but safe and behaves. Eager to please and tries to understand what you are asking. Light racing career and young so still a lot of growing, filling out, and learning to do for this handsome guy! No vices or known issues /injuries. SOUND and clean legged. Only disclosure is that he has an enlarged tarsal sheath (around the hock) that stays puffy, but never ever bothers him. Has been there ever since before racing, since he was a little guy. Xray and ultrasounds clean. Just truly a blemish. Cleared by vet to race and cleared for career doing anything.

No limitations on what this guy can do AND he is ready to start his new career now. He is sensitive to sound at the track so he was always worked/ran in earplugs. Not a spooky horse but goes happier in ear plugs. Very much a horse who would THRIVE with one person to spoil him. He just wants approval and someone to love on him. A little bit of a nervous type at the track, but since coming to a farm he is already changing and showing that this type of life will make him a completely different horse. Give him a little time to learn about a life outside the hectic stressful track and you are going to have a horse of a lifetime! His trainer said he reacts to praise, reward/petting and talking to him. Will relax very quickly if you rub his neck. He started out as a horse nobody wanted to gallop early on in his career as he was a nervous nelly but now the GIRLS fought over who got to gallop him at the track as he turned out to be one of the easiest ones in the barn!
He just isn't cut out to be a great racehorse.

Important Note About Meeting / Trying PARR Horses
PARR horses are not in active programs, they are waiting for their new homes to start their new jobs. They are often ridden once for a video and hanging out in field, stall at track, or being turned out at a foster farm the remainder of days while they wait to be adopted. Therefore, we do not allow PARR horses to be tried(ridden) for the best interest of the horse and liability risks for the owners, connections, trainers, etc. If a horse is new off the track, we may only adopt to an experienced rider, or capable rider working with a trainer. They will need to return to a program typical of a horse that is either just off the track or getting back into shape, from the ground up with your training methods. Most live at private farms that do not have arenas/riding areas. If we are able to haul a horse over to an indoor ring for an under saddle video we will, but that is dependent on the horse, schedule of foster home, and availability of a facility with an arena or place to ride. Shipping into a farm costs ring fees and sometimes expecting to pull a horse out of a field, haul them to a new place, hop on and expect them to knock our socks off is a lot to ask of a horse....but some of them do just that and those are the ones that sell fast, especially to those looking for great show-prospects for themselves or to bring along and sell down the road as an investment project. We can set up
appointments for you to meet the horses, see them move freely (or jog in hand), and vettings are welcome.

PA Racehorse Rehoming,Rehabilitation, Rescue is a Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Federal ID number: 66-0821935
whose Articles of Incorporation were filed with the State of Pennsylvania on May 9, 2014 (effective date of exemption) with
Public Charity Status 509(a)(2) under section 501(c)(3).
Contributions made to PARR are tax deductible. Our Letter of Determination
from the IRS was received on April 16, 2015 and any donations made after May 9th, 2014 may qualify for tax exemption.

Our Legal Name is "PA Racehorse Rehoming, Rehabilitation, & Rescue" and we often go by the abbreviated nickname "PARR". PARR operates  on a 100% volunteer basis with all proceeds going to our cause and the animals. Any and all items or monetary donations go directly to the expenses of supporting these animals. This includes veterinary expenses, transport, "pull" fees, food/boarding or stabling/supplies/etc, legal fees, advertising/event costs, merchandise expenses, website and technology fees etc. Individuals on the Board are not paid for their positions. We offer 100% transparency and are happy to answer any questions and provide all financial information at any time.
Our officers, directors, and volunteers take a neutral position with respect to the controversy associated with horse racing. Our efforts focus on the well being, re-homing, and education and support of ex-racehorses and finding them new careers after their racing careers have ended. We also support at-risk shelter dogs and occasional at-risk horses that end up neglected or in auction/slaughter situations when finances and abilities allow us to help. Any "listings" are simply to help network animals into new homes and we
can not be responsible for the representation of those animals.

As of July 2021, the facility we rented in Pennsylvania was sold out from under us with barely enough time to relocate over 30 horses anywhere in the area. We were able to secure a permanent residence at a new farm in Ocala and move all of our horses there. PARR now resides in Ocala, Florida but still operates as usual, helping horses from Pennsylvania as much as we can, offering sanctuary to our lifelong residents that are not adoptable or require veterinary care to say comfortable, and have our OTTB retraining program here in Ocala as well.

We are now permanently located at 6856 SW 70th Ave. Ocala, Florida 34476.
