Have you ever owned an Ex-Racehorse? Was it right off track or already re-trained? How experienced are you with ex-racehorses, do you work with a trainer who is or will you have someone with experience helping you? Have you worked with green horses? Why do you want an ex-racehorse?
*
Do you understand how it works buying a horse directly from the track? You understand you can not try the horse, ride it or see it ridden, or take the horse on trial. Trainers are often limited on time for how long a horse that is not running can stick around so do not expect a horse to be "held". If someone comes with a trailer, cash, and offering a good home the horse will leave. Be prepared to arrange transport or pick the horse up yourself and have funds ready. Do you have questions or concerns about this?
*
Please describe the farm where your horse will be living. What type of fencing, how many horses in each field, how often will horse be turned out, run in sheds or shelter available in field, what type of feed/hay, how often are they fed, is the farm or staff experienced with ex-racehorses.....etc. (we will not contact the farm/trainer without your permission)

*
Are you looking for a resale project or long-term partner? (either is ok) If a resale project, please explain your plans/timeline/goals and type of client/future home you anticipate selling the horse to?
*

*
What type of deworming program do you use? What vaccines do you plan on getting for your horse each year? Farrier schedule and anticipated cost/how often?
*
How did you hear about us?
*
