Our Posse
16.1+HH Chestnut OTTB Gelding
100% SOUND - No issues - Sweet - Quiet - Amateur Friendly!

Posse / Silver Deputy x Phantom Jet / Tri Jet
Ran 15 times, $21k earnings, retired 6/25/16

Posse is just such a great guy there isn't much to say about him besides he is just great! He is super kind, no vices, well mannered, not much bothers him, well behaved under saddle (not dead to the world, but very amateur friendly). He isn't the best mover in the world but he is athletic, brave, and happy to do whatever is asked of him.  He was too slow at the track and is ready for a new career. He does have an old scar over his eye from a whip during a race, but there is no injury to the eye, it is just cosmetic. Posse is suitable for a career doing anything, and may be taken up thru his training and re-sold to a quality show type home. We do not adopt out to those who do quick flips, but he is surely one that could get into a program and make someone a really nice project horse to bring along in their business!

Important Note About Meeting / Trying PARR Horses
PARR horses are not in active programs, they are waiting for their new homes to start their new jobs. They are often ridden once for a video and hanging out in field, stall at track, or being turned out at a foster farm the remainder of days while they wait to be adopted. Therefore, we do not allow PARR horses to be tried(ridden) for the best interest of the horse and liability risks for the owners, connections, trainers, etc. If a horse is new off the track, we may only adopt to an experienced rider, or capable rider working with a trainer. They will need to return to a program typical of a horse that is either just off the track or getting back into shape, from the ground up with your training methods. Most live at private farms that do not have arenas/riding areas. If we are able to haul a horse over to an indoor ring for an under saddle video we will, but that is dependent on the horse, schedule of foster home, and availability of a facility with an arena or place to ride. Shipping into a farm costs ring fees and sometimes expecting to pull a horse out of a field, haul them to a new place, hop on and expect them to knock our socks off is a lot to ask of a horse....but some of them do just that and those are the ones that sell fast, especially to those looking for great show-prospects for themselves or to bring along and sell down the road as an investment project. We can set up
appointments for you to meet the horses, see them move freely (or jog in hand), and vettings are welcome.

PA Racehorse Rehoming,Rehabilitation, Rescue is a Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Federal ID number: 66-0821935
whose Articles of Incorporation were filed with the State of Pennsylvania on May 9, 2014 (effective date of exemption) with
Public Charity Status 509(a)(2) under section 501(c)(3).
Contributions made to PARR are tax deductible. Our Letter of Determination
from the IRS was received on April 16, 2015 and any donations made after May 9th, 2014 may qualify for tax exemption.

Our Legal Name is "PA Racehorse Rehoming, Rehabilitation, & Rescue" and we often go by the abbreviated nickname "PARR". PARR operates  on a 100% volunteer basis with all proceeds going to our cause and the animals. Any and all items or monetary donations go directly to the expenses of supporting these animals. This includes veterinary expenses, transport, "pull" fees, food/boarding or stabling/supplies/etc, legal fees, advertising/event costs, merchandise expenses, website and technology fees etc. Individuals on the Board are not paid for their positions. We offer 100% transparency and are happy to answer any questions and provide all financial information at any time.
Our officers, directors, and volunteers take a neutral position with respect to the controversy associated with horse racing. Our efforts focus on the well being, re-homing, and education and support of ex-racehorses and finding them new careers after their racing careers have ended. We also support at-risk shelter dogs and occasional at-risk horses that end up neglected or in auction/slaughter situations when finances and abilities allow us to help. Any "listings" are simply to help network animals into new homes and we
can not be responsible for the representation of those animals.
