PHIL DANCER
Turns 7 in February, Bay Gelding, Sticked at slight hair under 16.2hh
Stakes Horse Winner - Very Successful Career $257k in 20 starts
He is sound and ready for a new career! GREAT BRAIN!
Update: He spent a week at the PA Horse World Expo doing the
daily demonstration rides, clinics with Stuart Pittman, and took it in like a pro.
Crowds in the stadium seating, speaker system, clapping etc was no big deal.
He was fantastic with great compliments by many, and a huge fan club.
Phil is the REAL DEAL with the potential and talent to be a wonderful
competitive partner for an amateur rider or pro. This one is SPECIAL!
Gorgeous, excellent manners, a total professional. Very sweet!
Adoption Fee $5,500 (will increase quickly with training & mileage)
Located in Harrisburg, PA
Phil retired in 2013 and was on layup before coming to PARR this past summer. He reportedly fractured
his hind sesamoid but has had over 2 years off (doing nothing but turnout) and is 100% sound. He had no suspensory damage and has been cleared by our veterinarian for a new career doing anything aside from racing or Rolex.
We hauled Phil over to an indoor for a video. This was his first ride since probably 2013, and he was a total gentleman.
We pulled him out of a field, he was covered head to toe in thick mud, he stood like a saint while 3 people used currys to get the layers of mud he so kindly bathed himself in, off. He never made a face, never moved a foot, just seemed to enjoy the attention and was happy to sniff out our pockets. He went right to work, never spooking in the scary indoor, or doing anything wrong. The video can be seen below. He has not been in any work or any type of program, so he would need to be put back in a conditioning/retraining program for his new career. Phil is FANCY, talented, brave, and one of those horses you feel lucky to just be in his presence. He is absolutely gorgeous with a kind eye, and ohhhh that forelock!
Phil is suitable for any career but we think he would love to be a hunter/jumper or low-mid level event horse.

Important Note About Meeting / Trying PARR Horses
PARR horses are not in active programs, they are waiting for their new homes to start their new jobs. They are often ridden once for a video and hanging out in field, stall at track, or being turned out at a foster farm the remainder of days while they wait to be adopted. Therefore, we do not allow PARR horses to be tried(ridden) for the best interest of the horse and liability risks for the owners, connections, trainers, etc. If a horse is new off the track, we may only adopt to an experienced rider, or capable rider working with a trainer. They will need to return to a program typical of a horse that is either just off the track or getting back into shape, from the ground up with your training methods. Most live at private farms that do not have arenas/riding areas. If we are able to haul a horse over to an indoor ring for an under saddle video we will, but that is dependent on the horse, schedule of foster home, and availability of a facility with an arena or place to ride. Shipping into a farm costs ring fees and sometimes expecting to pull a horse out of a field, haul them to a new place, hop on and expect them to knock our socks off is a lot to ask of a horse....but some of them do just that and those are the ones that sell fast, especially to those looking for great show-prospects for themselves or to bring along and sell down the road as an investment project. We can set up
appointments for you to meet the horses, see them move freely (or jog in hand), and vettings are welcome.
