FOR ADOPTION: "Beauty" 12.1 6 yo Pony Mare Harrisburg,PA
Sweet, Adorable, and naturally talented jumper!
$1,200 adoption fee
She was brought in after a humane society intake event where owners could surrender their horses they could no longer care for. Her history is unknown, but she has been here at PARR since early June, and everyone is just in love with her!
A great project for a professional who wants to bring her along (Pony-Finals in her future as a small pony hunter? Maybe!). She has been sat on but unsure how well broke/trained she is at this time. Good in turnout with others. Nice to be around!

HOW TO ADOPT:
1. You MUST fill out online application to be considered for adoption.
2. Trainers - You are able to resell most PARR horses. While we aim for long term forever type homes, sometimes some really excellent trainers with experience retraining OTTBs look past us assuming they could never sell the horse. We are picky, but do approve adoptions to qualified trainers with the same end goal as us: excellent loving homes in a new career. We just require to be notified when the horse is going up for sale, and must get all new owners contact information to continue keeping tabs on where the PARR horses are in their new lives and careers. We strive for keeping in touch and receiving updates on our PARR Alumni!
A non-auction/neglect/slaughter/ PARR adoption contract is always required. You can see this on our website under the FORMS tab. Adoption fees help run our 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization for Racehorse Rehoming & Rescue.
Online application can be filled out here: http://www.paracehorse.org/online-application.html
More information about the process, our program, etc can be found under the Info tab on the website:

Important Note About Meeting / Trying PARR Horses
PARR horses are not in active programs, they are waiting for their new homes to start their new jobs. They are often ridden once for a video and hanging out in field, stall at track, or being turned out at a foster farm the remainder of days while they wait to be adopted. Therefore, we do not allow PARR horses to be tried(ridden) for the best interest of the horse and liability risks for the owners, connections, trainers, etc. If a horse is new off the track, we may only adopt to an experienced rider, or capable rider working with a trainer. They will need to return to a program typical of a horse that is either just off the track or getting back into shape, from the ground up with your training methods. Most live at private farms that do not have arenas/riding areas. If we are able to haul a horse over to an indoor ring for an under saddle video we will, but that is dependent on the horse, schedule of foster home, and availability of a facility with an arena or place to ride. Shipping into a farm costs ring fees and sometimes expecting to pull a horse out of a field, haul them to a new place, hop on and expect them to knock our socks off is a lot to ask of a horse....but some of them do just that and those are the ones that sell fast, especially to those looking for great show-prospects for themselves or to bring along and sell down the road as an investment project. We can set up
appointments for you to meet the horses, see them move freely (or jog in hand), and vettings are welcome.
