(About/Career:) Retired sound after a very long successful career, $340k earnings
Pedigree: by Vindication / Seattle Slew x Copelan / Tri Jet / Private Thoughts

Horse Located in Harrisburg, PA at private foster farm.

Vinny is a true "War Horse". He ran 75 races earning $340,000 during his career, running from the time he was 2 years old until two weeks ago at the age of 10. Vinny retired sound with some wear and tear (as expected), but for a horse to hold up to a career for that long and be as sound as he is, those are the ones that stay sound for a very long time. Those are the ones I want! I know I will never ask my horse to do anything half as tough as racing so if a horse can make it through a long racing career, they have my vote! Vinny does have front splints and an old broken splint bone that healed and has not bothered him. He has no other known issues. He just arrived last week to be in the PARR Program so we can help him find a new home.

Vinny so far seems to be sensible, kind, and knows his job. He could benefit from some time to just be a horse, enjoy turnout, and learn how to adjust to a life away from the track. Horses like him are used to having a routine and a job, so he would probably be happiest if he had some type of program while he unwinds. That could be grooming, hacking around the farm, ground work, trail riding etc. He is suitable for a career doing anything, but giving him the chance to show you what he enjoys can benefit both him and his new owner. Vinny is at the foster farm in Harrisburg, PA. Our vet is happy to do a pre-purchase exam or take x-rays (at buyers expense) at a discounted rate for approved PARR adopters!

Important Note About Meeting / Trying PARR Horses
PARR horses are not in active programs, they are waiting for their new homes to start their new jobs. They are often ridden once for a video and hanging out in field, stall at track, or being turned out at a foster farm the remainder of days while they wait to be adopted. Therefore, we do not allow PARR horses to be tried(ridden) for the best interest of the horse and liability risks for the owners, connections, trainers, etc. If a horse is new off the track, we may only adopt to an experienced rider, or capable rider working with a trainer. They will need to return to a program typical of a horse that is either just off the track or getting back into shape, from the ground up with your training methods. Most live at private farms that do not have arenas/riding areas. If we are able to haul a horse over to an indoor ring for an under saddle video we will, but that is dependent on the horse, schedule of foster home, and availability of a facility with an arena or place to ride. Shipping into a farm costs ring fees and sometimes expecting to pull a horse out of a field, haul them to a new place, hop on and expect them to knock our socks off is a lot to ask of a horse....but some of them do just that and those are the ones that sell fast, especially to those looking for great show-prospects for themselves or to bring along and sell down the road as an investment project. We can set up
appointments for you to meet the horses, see them move freely (or jog in hand), and vettings are welcome.

PA Racehorse Rehoming,Rehabilitation, Rescue is a Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Federal ID number: 66-0821935
whose Articles of Incorporation were filed with the State of Pennsylvania on May 9, 2014 (effective date of exemption) with
Public Charity Status 509(a)(2) under section 501(c)(3).
Contributions made to PARR are tax deductible. Our Letter of Determination
from the IRS was received on April 16, 2015 and any donations made after May 9th, 2014 may qualify for tax exemption.

Our Legal Name is "PA Racehorse Rehoming, Rehabilitation, & Rescue" and we often go by the abbreviated nickname "PARR". PARR operates  on a 100% volunteer basis with all proceeds going to our cause and the animals. Any and all items or monetary donations go directly to the expenses of supporting these animals. This includes veterinary expenses, transport, "pull" fees, food/boarding or stabling/supplies/etc, legal fees, advertising/event costs, merchandise expenses, website and technology fees etc. Individuals on the Board are not paid for their positions. We offer 100% transparency and are happy to answer any questions and provide all financial information at any time.
Our officers, directors, and volunteers take a neutral position with respect to the controversy associated with horse racing. Our efforts focus on the well being, re-homing, and education and support of ex-racehorses and finding them new careers after their racing careers have ended. We also support at-risk shelter dogs and occasional at-risk horses that end up neglected or in auction/slaughter situations when finances and abilities allow us to help. Any "listings" are simply to help network animals into new homes and we
can not be responsible for the representation of those animals.

As of July 2021, the facility we rented in Pennsylvania was sold out from under us with barely enough time to relocate over 30 horses anywhere in the area. We were able to secure a permanent residence at a new farm in Ocala and move all of our horses there. PARR now resides in Ocala, Florida but still operates as usual, helping horses from Pennsylvania as much as we can, offering sanctuary to our lifelong residents that are not adoptable or require veterinary care to say comfortable, and have our OTTB retraining program here in Ocala as well.

We are now permanently located at 6856 SW 70th Ave. Ocala, Florida 34476.
